GENETIC IMPROVEMENT course APPLIED TO CORNER BIRDS and fiber
Course designed by MV. Octávio Lisboa and Dr. Renan Botelho to contribute with the creation and conservation of passerines
In recent years, even with the evolution of nutrition, management and several other areas of bird breeding, we continue to observe many problems in birds, such as: low life expectancy, congenital problems, poor health and several other factors that may be related to a poorly conducted genetic improvement.
To plan and conduct a genetic improvement, it is essential to keep in mind the selection objectives that will be applied and the criteria that will be used to achieve the desired characteristics.
In addition to clear objectives, it is also necessary to understand, control and respect different aspects of genetics such as: variability, mutation, breeding methods and many others.
In order to present all this information and provide safe and accurate tools, the Genetic Improvement Course Applied to Songbirds and Fiber was developed.
In the course you will learn how to conduct the genetic improvement of your flock in a healthy and sustainable way, increasing the productive efficiency of your birds and mainly contributing to the proper conservation of these much-loved species.
